Collagen biostimulation · poly-L-lactic acid · 2–3 sessions
Not instant volume, but your own collagen. The skin grows firmer over several weeks — and the result lasts at least a year.
Treatment
What is JULÄINE™?
JULÄINE™ is a collagen biostimulator based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biodegradable material that has long been used in medicine. Unlike a hyaluronic acid filler, JULÄINE™ does not fill immediately: the fine PLLA particles stimulate the connective tissue to build its own collagen over several weeks, so the skin gradually regains firmness and volume. At the Ästhetik am Isartor practice in Munich, directly at the Isartorplatz, Dr. Fabian Weinschenk, specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery (Facharzt), uses it to treat nasolabial folds, marionette lines, the cheeks, the jawline, the under-eye area, the neck and the décolleté. Two to three sessions are recommended, six to eight weeks apart. The result appears after about three months and lasts at least a year; after that, a yearly top-up maintains the effect. Swelling subsides after one to four days. The price starts at €672 per veil (net, around €800 gross); the calculation is made in the initial consultation (€100).
JULÄINE™ is a CE-marked medical device based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), made by Nordberg Medical AB, Sweden. The manufacturer has approved it for the treatment of moderate to severe nasolabial folds; use in further areas is at the doctor's discretion and is discussed in the informed-consent consultation. We hand out the mandatory information on the medical device in the personal informed-consent consultation.
Suitability
Who is JULÄINE™ in Munich suitable for?
Over the years the skin produces less collagen — it loses elasticity, the cheeks and jawline look softer, and wrinkles deepen. JULÄINE™ works on that cause: rather than filling in volume, poly-L-lactic acid stimulates the tissue to build collagen again itself.

Suitable for
JULÄINE™ is suitable for nasolabial folds and marionette lines, for volume loss in the cheeks, for a softening jawline, for the under-eye area and for declining skin firmness on the neck and décolleté. The treatment fits especially well if you would like a gradual, inconspicuous change rather than an instantly visible effect, and if you can plan for two to three sessions.
Not suitable for
JULÄINE™ is not suitable with untreated autoimmune diseases, with allergies to components of the product, or shortly after a treatment with other biostimulators — an interval of a few months is then needed. As with any injection treatment, we wait with acute inflammation in the treatment area and during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Anyone who wants an instantly visible result combines JULÄINE™ with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid (skin boosters such as Profhilo).
Which areas make sense and how many veils you are likely to need, we clarify together in the personal initial consultation (€100).
Method
Your own collagen instead of filler.
JULÄINE™ and hyaluronic acid are both injected, but they work in fundamentally different ways. The comparison shows when each method fits.

Procedure
JULÄINE™ in Munich: the procedure
Four steps — from the initial consultation through the treatment to the first days afterwards. The next session follows after six to eight weeks, two to three in total; after that, a yearly top-up is enough.
Schritt 01approx. 45 minConsultation & treatment plan
In the personal initial consultation (€100), Dr. Weinschenk assesses the areas, asks about autoimmune diseases, allergies and previous treatments with biostimulators, and determines how many sessions and veils make sense. You receive a written calculation and the mandatory information on the medical device.
Schritt 02Preparation
No blood-thinning medication in the days before the session (after consulting your GP), no alcohol on the day of treatment. Plan for one to four days without sport and sauna afterwards.
Schritt 03Treatment
The area is disinfected, then Dr. Weinschenk places the PLLA suspension into the deep layer of the skin with a fine blunt cannula — distributed according to the plan from the initial consultation. The amount depends on the area and the starting findings and is charged per veil. Dr. Weinschenk himself trains doctors in the use of JULÄINE™.
Schritt 04After the treatment
Swelling for one to four days is normal. During that time, please no sport, no sauna and no alcohol. The swelling of the first days is not yet the result — that develops over about three months while new collagen forms.

Risks
Risks & informed consent
Poly-L-lactic acid is biodegradable and has long been used in medicine. Like any injection, the treatment is not free of risks — we discuss all of them in detail in the personal informed-consent consultation.
- General
Swelling in the treatment area — typical, subsides in 1–4 days. Redness and tenderness at the injection sites — temporary. Small bruises at the injection sites — fade within a few days.
- Specific
Small palpable nodules under the skin — extremely rare with JULÄINE™, which is why it works well in the face.
- Very rare
Inflammatory nodules (granulomas), also delayed after months — rare, can be treated medically. Infection at the injection site — very rare with proper asepsis. Allergic reaction to components — contraindicated with a known allergy.
All individual risks are documented in detail during the personal informed-consent consultation in accordance with § 8 HWG (German Health Advertising Act).

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is JULÄINE™?
JULÄINE™ is a collagen biostimulator based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a CE-marked medical device from the Swedish company Nordberg Medical. The fine PLLA particles are placed into the deep layer of the skin and stimulate the tissue to build its own collagen. The skin thus gradually gains firmness and volume — unlike a hyaluronic acid filler, which fills volume directly.
Who carries out the JULÄINE™ treatment in Munich?
Dr. Fabian Weinschenk, specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery (Facharzt), treats you personally. We have offered JULÄINE™ since July 2026, and Dr. Weinschenk passes on his experience with the product in training courses for doctors.
What does JULÄINE™ cost in Munich?
With us, the first veil (vial) costs from €672 net, around €800 gross. Each further veil costs €336 net, around €400 gross. How many veils are needed depends on the area and the starting findings; two to three sessions are recommended. You receive a written calculation in the initial consultation (€100).
Which areas can be treated with JULÄINE™?
In our practice we use JULÄINE™ to treat nasolabial folds, marionette lines, the cheeks, the jawline, the under-eye area, and the neck and décolleté. The manufacturer has approved the product for moderate to severe nasolabial folds; whether use in further areas makes sense for you, the doctor decides in the initial consultation.
How many sessions do I need?
Two to three sessions are recommended: the second follows six to eight weeks after the first, and a third at the same interval if needed. After that, a top-up once a year maintains the result.
When do you see the result, and how long does it last?
The result appears after about three months, because the new collagen first has to form. It lasts at least one year; after that, a yearly top-up is enough. The fullness directly after the treatment is swelling and goes down after one to four days.
Is there any downtime?
After the treatment the area is swollen for one to four days. During that time, please no sport, no sauna and no alcohol. Everyday life and work are usually possible straight away.
JULÄINE™ or hyaluronic acid — what is the difference?
Hyaluronic acid fills volume directly: the result is visible immediately and can be dissolved again with hyaluronidase. JULÄINE™, by contrast, stimulates your own collagen production: the result comes gradually over about three months and lasts at least one year. Both methods can be combined: complemented with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid (skin boosters such as Profhilo), an effect shows immediately while JULÄINE™ builds up the collagen. What suits your concern, we clarify in the initial consultation.
When is JULÄINE™ not suitable?
With untreated autoimmune diseases, with allergies to components of the product, and shortly after a treatment with other biostimulators — we then wait a few months. As with any injection, we do not treat with acute inflammation in the area or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Can JULÄINE™ be combined with other treatments?
Yes. Because JULÄINE™ works gradually, we like to combine it with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid (skin boosters such as Profhilo): it improves skin quality immediately, while JULÄINE™ builds up new collagen over about three months. Which combination and order make sense, we plan in the initial consultation.
Can I book JULÄINE™ online?
Every treatment is preceded by the medical initial consultation (€100). You can arrange it online via Doctolib or by phone; we then plan the appointment for the JULÄINE™ treatment itself together with you.
Why don't you show before-and-after photographs on your website?
For two reasons — one legal, one ethical. First, the German Heilmittelwerbegesetz (§ 11 HWG, the Health Advertising Act) prohibits advertising surgical plastic procedures with before-and-after photographs on publicly accessible websites — a rule in force since 2012 that protects patients from distorted promotional depictions. Second, we respect our patients' privacy: even where written consent exists, many would rather intimate photographs of their body did not circulate on the open web. What you can expect instead: in the personal initial consultation (€100) we show you anonymised examples from our own practice documentation — matched to your indication, your build and your aesthetic goal. Those images are shown with the written consent of the patients concerned, exclusively within the protected setting of the consultation, and are never published online. You get a realistic sense of what to expect without anyone having to give up their privacy for someone else's advertising.
What should I look for when choosing a doctor for aesthetic plastic surgery in Munich?
Three objective criteria help you get your bearings. First, the specialist qualification: "Facharzt für Plastische und Ästhetische Chirurgie" is a legally protected German specialist title requiring several years of specialist training — unlike general, unprotected descriptions such as "cosmetic surgeon". Second, membership of a medical professional society such as the DGPRÄC (the German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons), which requires binding professional standards and continuous further training. Third, the quality of the consultation: a reputable practice takes its time, is honest about risks, alternatives and realistically achievable results, and does not push you towards a decision. At Ästhetik am Isartor the medical direction lies with Dr. Fabian Weinschenk, specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery (Facharzt) and a member of the DGPRÄC. Procedures are carried out personally by the specialist, and every treatment is preceded by a detailed medical informed-consent consultation (chargeable at €100).
