Liposuction starts from €2,900 per area. The total cost depends on the number of areas treated, the anaesthesia used and any inpatient stay, and is calculated specifically in the initial consultation (€100). Treating several areas together in one session is usually less expensive than several separate sessions.

When carried out properly by a specialist-qualified doctor, liposuction is a safe standard procedure. We work with tumescent local anaesthetic and fine cannulas; depending on the volume, the stay is outpatient or 1 night as an inpatient. Risks (swelling, bruising and, very rarely, thromboembolic events) and contraindications are documented in the informed-consent consultation in accordance with § 8 HWG.

No. Liposuction contours clearly defined, stubborn fat deposits — it does not reduce weight. A stable starting point in terms of weight and lifestyle is a precondition for a good result. We assess the indication in the initial consultation.

The fat cells that are removed do not re-form. With a stable diet and regular exercise the result lasts. If you gain a significant amount of weight, the new fat is distributed among the remaining cells — the result can change as a consequence.

Depending on the number of areas, the overall extent and your own wishes, we choose the appropriate anaesthesia together. The options are pure local anaesthetic (tumescent), twilight sedation combined with local anaesthetic, or general anaesthesia. You wear an individually fitted compression garment around the clock for 4 to 6 weeks (removing it only to shower). It reduces swelling, shapes the tissue and is an essential part of the surgical result.

The first contours become visible after 4-6 weeks; the final result stabilises after 3 to 6 months, once all swelling and the remodelling of the tissue are complete. Patience during the healing phase pays off.

For two reasons — one legal, one ethical. First, the German Heilmittelwerbegesetz (§ 11 HWG, the Health Advertising Act) prohibits advertising surgical plastic procedures with before-and-after photographs on publicly accessible websites — a rule in force since 2012 that protects patients from distorted promotional depictions. Second, we respect our patients' privacy: even where written consent exists, many would rather intimate photographs of their body did not circulate on the open web. What you can expect instead: in the personal initial consultation (€100) we show you anonymised examples from our own practice documentation — matched to your indication, your build and your aesthetic goal. Those images are shown with the written consent of the patients concerned, exclusively within the protected setting of the consultation, and are never published online. You get a realistic sense of what to expect without anyone having to give up their privacy for someone else's advertising.

Three objective criteria help you get your bearings. First, the specialist qualification: "Facharzt für Plastische und Ästhetische Chirurgie" is a legally protected German specialist title requiring several years of specialist training — unlike general, unprotected descriptions such as "cosmetic surgeon". Second, membership of a medical professional society such as the DGPRÄC (the German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons), which requires binding professional standards and continuous further training. Third, the quality of the consultation: a reputable practice takes its time, is honest about risks, alternatives and realistically achievable results, and does not push you towards a decision.
