What is High Definition body contouring?
3D High Definition body contouring — also called high-definition liposuction — is a surgical procedure for athletic body contouring. Unlike classic liposuction it does not only remove fat: it models it specifically along the muscles beneath, so that the natural muscle definition becomes visible — in men the contour of the abdomen, chest and flanks, in women a slim waist and a flat, defined abdomen. At the Ästhetik am Isartor practice in Munich the procedure is carried out by Dr. Fabian Weinschenk, specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery (Facharzt). Vibration-assisted techniques are used (PAL, power-assisted liposuction); they release the fat gently and allow precise work in superficial and deep layers. Techniques for tissue tightening (plasma tightening with Renuvion) are also used, in order to contour the skin optimally. Autologous fat is optionally transferred to emphasise individual muscle groups. A prerequisite is an already slim, trained starting condition with good skin elasticity — High Definition body contouring replaces neither exercise nor weight loss; it makes existing muscle visible.
Suitability
Who is High Definition body contouring suitable for?
High Definition body contouring is the most thorough form of body contouring — and at the same time the most demanding. Who is suited to it can be established from a few clear criteria.
Suitable for
The procedure is suitable for slim to normal-weight patients with good skin elasticity, a weight that has been stable for months and an already trained body whose muscles remain hidden under a thin, stubborn layer of fat. Men mostly wish for a defined abdominal and chest contour, women for a slim waist with a flat, defined abdomen. The basis is a realistic expectation: the result emphasises the muscle that is there.
Not suitable for
High Definition body contouring does not make sense in cases of marked overweight, or where muscle first has to be built up — here training and stabilising your weight lead to the goal first. Where there is lax skin without elasticity, a tummy tuck or Renuvion® skin tightening is the more suitable procedure. Acute infections, wound-healing disorders or anticoagulation that cannot be paused postpone the operation.

Definition is created at the surface.
Classic liposuction works in the depth of the tissue. High Definition body contouring works in the superficial layer as well — along the natural boundaries of the muscles. Work measured in millimetres: where fat stays and where it gives way decides the light and shadow of the later contour. This is why the procedure belongs in experienced specialist hands.
We are not removing fat — we are modelling a contour. The difference lies in the last few millimetres.

How the procedure works
Four clearly separated steps — from the initial consultation with an analysis of the distribution of muscle and fat through to the consistent aftercare that secures the definition result. Each step has its own pace; none is skipped.

In the personal initial consultation (€100) we clarify what you would like to achieve, analyse the distribution of fat and muscle in the areas in question and assess skin elasticity and your starting condition. We discuss the choice of method, what you can realistically expect, the risks and the alternatives. You receive a written cost estimate afterwards.
Schritt 02Preparation
Before the operation the boundaries of the muscles and the contour lines are marked precisely, with the patient standing upright — the map for the fine modelling to come. The pre-operative tests (blood count, ECG where indicated) must be available; no nicotine for at least 4 weeks beforehand.
Schritt 032–4 hoursOperation
The operation is carried out under twilight sedation or general anaesthesia. The tumescent solution is infiltrated through small incisions of 2-4 mm; the fat is then contoured with PAL layer by layer along the muscles, in the deep and in the superficial layer. Optionally, autologous fat is transferred to emphasise individual muscle groups; where skin laxity is moderate, plasma tightening with Renuvion® completes the contouring.
Schritt 04Aftercare
Immediately afterwards you receive an individually fitted compression garment — you wear it around the clock for 4-6 weeks (removing it only to shower). Manual lymphatic drainage supports the reduction of the swelling. The first check-up is after 14 days, with further appointments after 6 weeks and 6 months.

Risks & informed consent
When carried out properly by a specialist-qualified doctor, High Definition body contouring is a safe procedure. Because work is also done in the superficial layer, the experience of the treating doctor matters particularly here. Swelling, bruising and tenderness to pressure are part of the expected course in the first weeks and typically subside completely within a few weeks. Wound-healing disorders are reduced to a minimum by sterile operating conditions and consistent aftercare.
- Specific
Because High Definition body contouring also works in the superficial layer, contour irregularities and asymmetries are the central specific aspect — we counter them with a layered, contour-led approach that treats both sides alike. A temporary change of sensation in the area is possible and as a rule resolves within weeks to a few months.

Thromboembolic events, infections or seromas are very rare with early mobilisation, consistent compression and proper post-operative care.

A convincing result requires an already slim, trained starting condition. If the muscle has not yet been built up sufficiently, the path leads through targeted training first.
Is the procedure suitable for men and women?
Yes. The goals differ: men mostly wish for a defined abdominal, chest and flank contour, women for a slim waist with a flat, defined abdomen. The procedure is matched individually to the anatomy in question and to the contour wanted.
Does the result last?
The fat cells that are removed do not re-form. With a stable weight and a balanced diet and exercise, the definition result lasts. If you gain a significant amount of weight, the new fat is distributed among the remaining cells — the contour can change as a consequence.
How long is the downtime?
As a rule 1 to 2 weeks of taking it easy. You wear an individually fitted compression garment around the clock for 4 to 6 weeks; it is decisive for a clean definition result. Sporting activity is possible again after 4 to 6 weeks, and the final result stabilises after 3 to 6 months.
Why don't you show before-and-after photographs on your website?
