02 · The unit
What is a "zone" — and why is it billed per zone?
A zone is a contiguous muscle area that is treated in one session with several injection points: the forehead (musculus frontalis), the glabellar line between the eyebrows (glabella), crow's feet at the corners of the eyes, bunny lines on the bridge of the nose, the chin or the chewing muscle (masseter). Per zone we place two to six injection points, depending on the anatomy.
Billing per zone makes sense because the work involved — analysing the facial expression, marking in an upright posture, injecting, the follow-up check — arises per area and not per unit of active substance. How much active substance is needed within a zone is decided by the strength of the muscle; that is part of the medical calculation, not a surcharge by the piece.
03 · The three classic zones
Botox costs for forehead, glabellar line and crow's feet
The three classic zones of the upper face each cost from €250 here. After the treatment, forehead lines (horizontal lines) typically last 3–5 months, the glabellar line 4–6 months — it is the zone with the longest duration of effect — and crow's feet 3–5 months.
If all three zones are treated in one session, the calculation works out at from €750. Most patients combine two or three zones, because the expression of the upper face works as a whole: a forehead treated on its own can visually emphasise the glabellar line.

04 · The price drivers
What does the price depend on?
Three factors determine the calculation — in this order:
- The number of zones — every zone is calculated separately.
- The dosage — a strong musculus frontalis needs more active substance than a delicate one; the chewing muscle considerably more than any zone of facial expression.
- The indication — a low-dose, preventive treatment (baby Botox) uses less active substance than the standard dose; the medical service is the same.
The initial consultation (€100) is mandatory before every treatment — and is set off against a treatment that follows. The follow-up check after 14 days is part of the medical service, not an item on the invoice.
05 · Baby Botox
Baby Botox costs: less active substance, same starting price
Baby Botox — the low-dose variant with about 30–50% of the standard dose — likewise starts from €250 per zone. The reason: the medical service (analysis of the facial expression, marking, injection, follow-up check) is identical, only the amount of active substance is lower. What does differ is the duration of effect: baby Botox typically lasts 3–4 months instead of 3–6 and is therefore topped up somewhat more often — three to four times a year instead of once or twice.
For the yearly costs that means: baby Botox is not cheaper per session, but it can become more expensive over the year if the shorter duration of effect is offset by more appointments. Anyone who wants a discreet effect that nobody notices accepts that; anyone who wants a clear smoothing with a longer duration of effect is more economical with the standard dose.
06 · Masseter Botox
Masseter Botox costs: both sides and a higher dose
Treatment of the chewing muscle — for jaw slimming or against nocturnal teeth grinding (bruxism) — likewise starts from €250 per zone. Because the masseter is typically treated on both sides and is considerably stronger than the muscles of facial expression, the amount of active substance needed is higher; the overall package is correspondingly higher than for the forehead or the glabellar line. In return the effect lasts longer, 4–6 and occasionally up to 8 months.
The specific calculation follows the strength of the muscle, which we palpate in the initial consultation while you clench your jaw. With a functional bruxism indication it is worth asking your health insurer beforehand — aesthetic treatments are in principle self-pay services, and we cannot promise reimbursement in an individual case.
07 · Yearly costs
What does Botox cost per year?
Anyone who has three zones treated two to three times a year arrives at €1,500 to €2,250 per year — provided the individual calculation stays at the starting price. With regular treatment, experience shows that the duration of effect lengthens in many patients, so that the number of appointments tends to fall over the years.
A single appointment with one zone stays at from €250. The more important question is which zones really make sense.
Better two zones dosed properly than three zones dosed too cautiously — that is the advice we usually give in the initial consultation.

Why we state starting prices net
Aesthetic treatments without a medical indication are subject to VAT in Germany — which is why we state starting prices net; VAT is added on the invoice. That transparency matters more to us than an optically lower figure.
09 · The service
What a reputable price contains
Behind the starting price stands the medical service of a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery (Facharzt):
- Assessment of the facial expression in movement — which zone, which dose.
- Marking of the injection points in an upright posture.
- Conservative dosing with CE-certified preparations approved in Germany.
- A follow-up check after 14 days — and the informed-consent briefing under § 8 HWG (German Health Advertising Act) with the mandatory information on the active substance, in a personal conversation.
We do not publish package prices without an initial consultation: the right dose cannot be determined from a distance — and too much active substance is more expensive, in the result, not only on the invoice.
10 · Comparison
Botox or hyaluronic acid — which is more economical?
The two procedures cannot be compared directly, because they treat different wrinkles: botulinum toxin relaxes muscles and works on dynamic expression lines; hyaluronic acid fills volume and works on static wrinkles and volume loss. Hyaluronic acid starts here from €450 per millilitre and lasts 6–12 months — more expensive per session, often comparable per year.
A combination often makes sense: Botox for the forehead and the glabellar line, hyaluronic acid for nasolabial folds or lips. Which combination suits your facial expression and your budget is something we discuss in the initial consultation.
