In short: liposuction costs in Munich at a glance
Liposuction of one area starts from €2,900 with us, two areas in the same session from €4,900, three or more areas from €7,500. The personal initial consultation costs €100 and is mandatory before every treatment.
All prices given are starting prices (net). The specific calculation depends on area, volume, anaesthesia and stay and is set out in writing in the initial consultation — the full price notes are at the end of this guide.
02 · The unit
What is an ‘area’ — and why is it calculated per area?
An area is a defined body region with its own fat deposit: abdomen, hips, waist, outer thighs (saddlebags), inner thighs, lower legs, knees, upper arms, back, double chin or male chest (gynaecomastia). How the areas are defined in your case we determine during the examination in the initial consultation.
The calculation is per area because the medical effort arises per region: marking with the body standing, infiltration of the tumescent solution, layer-by-layer suction with fine cannulas through 2–5 mm access points. The volume removed mainly determines duration, anaesthesia and stay — and so feeds into the calculation.
03 · Combinations
Several areas in one session: what they cost
Two or more areas are often treated together — for example the abdomen and hips, or the saddlebags and inner thighs. A combined treatment in one session usually costs less than several separate sessions:
- 1 area — outpatient, under local or tumescent anaesthesia: from €2,900.
- 2 areas — outpatient, under local anaesthesia with sedation: from €4,900.
- 3 or more areas — under general anaesthesia with one night as an inpatient: from €7,500.
We contour in several layers — and work where the volume actually bothers you. Not everywhere.
04 · Abdomen
What does liposuction of the abdomen cost?
The same starting price of €2,900 per area applies to the abdomen; if the hips or waist are treated in the same session, the combination prices from €4,900 (two areas) or from €7,500 (three or more) apply.
The skin is decisive: liposuction requires good skin elasticity. With moderate skin laxity it can be combined with Renuvion® skin tightening through the same access points (from €2,000 extra); with marked excess skin — for example after pregnancy or major weight loss — a tummy tuck is the more suitable procedure (mini from €5,500, full from €9,800).
05 · Thighs & upper arms
Thighs, saddlebags, upper arms: liposuction or skin tightening?
The same logic applies to the thighs, saddlebags and upper arms: from €2,900 per area, less when combined. For local fat pads with firm skin, liposuction is enough; with moderate laxity, Renuvion® can additionally tighten through the liposuction access points — on the upper arms the Renuvion-only variant is an alternative to conventional skin tightening when skin quality is good.
With pronounced excess skin, typically after major weight loss, surgical tightening is needed: the upper arm lift from €9,900, the thigh lift from €10,900. Which route fits is decided by the examination in the initial consultation.
06 · The price drivers
What does the price depend on?
Four factors determine the calculation:
- Number of areas — each area is calculated on its own, combinations cost less.
- Volume — it determines the operating time of one to three hours and the anaesthesia.
- Anaesthesia — pure tumescent local anaesthesia, local anaesthesia with sedation, or general anaesthesia.
- Stay — outpatient or one night as an inpatient; clinic fees for anaesthesia and the overnight stay are shown separately.
07 · The service
What the treatment includes
Behind the starting price is the medical service under the direction of Dr. Fabian Weinschenk, specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery (Facharzt):
- Initial consultation (€100) with a clinical examination of the areas, choice of method, risks and alternatives — you receive the written cost calculation afterwards.
- Preliminary tests (blood count, ECG if needed) and marking of the areas with the body standing.
- The operation with tumescent solution and a vibration-assisted PAL cannula through 2–5 mm access points.
- Aftercare: an individually fitted compression garment for 4–6 weeks, check-ups after 14 days, 6 weeks and 6 months.
What happens after the operation shapes the result as much as the procedure itself.
08 · Health insurance
Does health insurance pay for liposuction?
Liposuction for body contouring is an aesthetic treatment and therefore, as a rule, a self-pay service.
Lipoedema is different: for patients with statutory health insurance there is a separate route under the direction of Dr. Weinschenk via the Maria-Theresia Klinik in Munich; you clarify the requirements and the application directly with the clinic. 09 · Net
Why we show starting prices net
Aesthetic treatments without a medical indication are subject to VAT in Germany — which is why we show starting prices net; VAT is added on the invoice. One area from €2,900 net corresponds to around €3,451 gross.
